Eric Daniel Pierre Cantona was born on 24 May 1966 in Marseille, French. He is a former footballer. He played for Auxerre, Martigues, Marseille, Bordeaux, Montepellier, Nimes and Leeds United before ending his professional footballing career at Manchester United, where he won four Premier League titles in five years and two League and two F.A cup.
Eric "King" Cantona played for M.U from 1992 until 1997. Cantona made his first appearance for Manchester United in a friendly match against Benfica in Lisbon. In Cantona's first season at Old Trafford, United won the inaugural Premier League by 10 points. In doing so, he became the first player to win back to back English top division titles with different clubs.
Cantona was confirmed as United's captain for the 1996–97 season following the departure of Steve Bruce to Birmingham city. At the end of the season he announced that he was retiring from football at the age of 30. his final appearance before retiring was on 16 May in a testimonial for David Busst (the player whose career had been ended by an injury suffered against United the previous year) against Coventry City at Highfield Road. Total Cantona scored 185 appearance for M.U and scored 82 goal.
